The OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe (OSCE), in partnership with the Secretariat of the National Commission on Irrigation and Drainage under the Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, organized a three-day Workshop on the preparation of project proposals for young professionals in the field of water resources. The Workshop was held from July 19 to 21 in Safed Dar, Varzob district. The OSCE provided transport from Dushanbe to the event and back, accommodation and meals for all participants.
The Workshop was attended by 15 young specialists in the field of water resources from Tajikistan. An international trainer from Uzbekistan, Dr. Iskandar Abdullaev, was invited to conduct the Workshop.
The purpose of the seminar was to increase the knowledge of specialists in the field of water resources, as well as related industries, including those working in international projects in this area to prepare project applications, proposals for improving water resources management, the sustainability of water management and related industries. The Workshop participants had the opportunity to gain knowledge and strengthen skills in identifying priority or problematic issues in the water sector and related sectors and developing actions to solve water problems. They also gained skills in preparing action logic frameworks, work plans, schedule and funding details, project indicators, measuring the impact and results of actions. The Workshop included lectures, group and individual work on topics specified by the trainer, presentations of results and exchange of opinions among Workshop participants.
