On December 9, 2022, the National Commission for Irrigation and Drainage of Tajikistan held its 9th meeting with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe. The meeting was attended by more than 70 representatives of international organizations, ministries and departments and NGOs. During the meeting, were discussed further plans and strategies for the activities of the TajNCID.
In the framework of the meeting, Senior Specialist for Water Resources of the World Bank in Tajikistan Ms. Farzona Mukhitdinova presented the program for the development of the irrigation sector until 2030: the main tasks and the upcoming process. And also, Mr. Kazuhiro Yoshida, Senior Water Resources Specialist of the Department of Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture of the Department of Central and West Asia of the Asian Development Bank, highly appreciated the work of the NCID Tajikistan in promoting the work of the land reclamation and irrigation sector at the global and national level. In addition, Mr. Yoshida stated that ADB is ready to support the NCID of Tajikistan to hold the 14th International Workshop on Drainage in 2024 in Tajikistan. In turn, the Secretary of the NCID of Tajikistan, Mr. Bakhrom Gaforzoda, shared about the preparation process for the 14th International Workshop on Drainage and welcomed all participants to this event.
